a little bit more about me
Maria Seda-Reeder (b. 1975, Cincinnati, OH) has been co-creating meaning as a writer for as long as she can remember. Great-granddaughter of Puerto Rican poet Facundo Rivera Natal, Maria was raised with an early love for the metaphorical language of poetry and art.
Over her past 25 years in the arts industry, she has curated several dozen exhibitions both regionally and across the country and spent more than a decade in the Fine Arts/Art History trenches of academia.
Maria is also a writer who was first published as a poet in elementary school and has written critically about the work of artists and creatives for various online and print publications since 2010. In 2022 she was selected as a participating artist for Olympic National Park’s Terminus Glacier Project, and in 2025 spent two weeks writing as an Artist in Residence at Mother’s Milk in Newton, KS.
Seda-Reeder leverages a devotional approach to using language on behalf of a more expansive and inclusive future—often by supporting the visions of other artists and creatives.
She currently serves as the Exhibitions Director at Visionaries + Voices, (a progressive art studio for 130+ artists with disabilities,) as well as the part-time Adjunct Curator for the Contemporary Arts Center.
